PICK UP PERFECT JOB AT ZOO.

Byline: JOSHUA KNAPMAN Reporter joshua.knapman@walesonline.co.uk

IF YOU love animals, you're in luck - you can now get paid to hang out with all the amazing creatures at a Welsh zoo.

From playful penguins to serene sloths, the closest most people get to these beauties is watching a David Attenborough documentary.

But for anyone looking to take the next step in their zoological career, Folly Farm in Pembrokeshire could have the perfect job opportunities.

Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo is home to more than 750 animals, including giraffes, penguins, monkeys, meerkats, criticallyendangered black rhinos and a pride of six African lions.

The team at Folly Farm is on the lookout for a zoo supervisor and a zoo keeper to look after its range of amazing animals. But you'll have to be quick, as applications close on Friday, March 15.

The zoo supervisor's responsibilities include overseeing Folly Farm's zoo department, supporting the team and helping care for more than 100 different species of animals across the zoo - from giraffes to tarantulas and everything in between.

The job also includes supporting the team with animal conservation awareness days, delivering training and overseeing animal enrichment - making sure the animals have toys to play with and keep them occupied.

Zoo keeper responsibilities include everything associated with looking after a wide range of animals - from feeding to cleaning.

The job also involves delivering educational talks and zoo keeper experiences, as well as helping with conservation work.

However, Folly Farm doesn't let just anyone look after its animals.

A "can-do", professional attitude is required, along with proven practical experience of working with a range of animals within a zoological collection, a degree in zoology or a related subject and full driving licence. You'll also need good communication skills, lots of energy and team-leading experience are desirable.

This position is hands-on, practical and physically demanding, so you'll need to be fit and willing to get stuck in. If you meet the criteria, and getting paid to hang out with animals is your dream job, send a CV and covering letter to hr@follyfarm.co.uk
