The world's most famous cycle race enters its latter phase, as the riders tackle the 15th stage, a 187km journey from Gap to L'Alpe d'Huez, of the Tour de France. This is the second day in the Alps and for many viewers it is one of the most spectacular. The competitors will be faced with one of the bestknown and feared climbs on the circuit, as Alpe d'Huez stands before them. The mountain offers a 1,100m climb over 13.8 kilometres, and this stage will have a huge bearing on who claims the title.
