PICA SELECTS GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTING EXPERT AS
               DEPUTY DIRECTOR; SCHEDULES BOARD MEETING
PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority (PICA) today announced the appointment of Peter Geleta as its deputy executive director.
Geleta, 60, is a certified public accountant who retired earlier this year as a partner with the public accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche.
Geleta, who specialized during his career with the firm in the areas of government accounting and auditing, joins PICA with 40 years of experience with the public sector, including extensive work with the City of Philadelphia. A native of Nanticoke, Luzerne County, he resides in Northeast Philadelphia, and is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
In announcing the appointment, PICA Chairman Bernard E. Anderson said, "We are pleased to have Mr. Geleta's talents and experience available to the authority. His selection indicates the commitment PICA has to responding to the needs of the city, and we will complement his skills with those of other analysts in the weeks ahead."
Geleta joins Ronald G. Henry, PICA's executive director, on PICA's staff, and will be paid $65,000 per year in his new position. In July, PICA selected Deloitte & Touche as its accountants. Geleta had no role in PICA's choice of the firm, or negotiation of its arrangements with the authority.
PICA will meet on Friday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m., in Conference Room A of the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority. The Philadelphia Regional Port Authority is located at 210 W. Washington Square, 8th floor, on 7th Street between Walnut and Locust streets (215-928-9100).
The authority will consider all business that may properly be brought before it.
