PIC'N'SAVE OPENS TWO NEW STORES IN LOS ANGELES MARKET

 DOMINGUEZ, Calif., July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Mac Frugal's Bargains - Close-outs Inc. (NYSE: MFI), the parent company of Pic'N'Save stores, announced the scheduled grand opening of two new stores on Friday, July 30, at 9 a.m. The stores are located in Rialto at Baseline Street and Riverside Avenue and in Cathedral City on Highway 111 and Date Palm Drive.
 These new stores in Rialto and Cathedral City bring the total number of stores in the Greater Los Angeles area to 70. "These new stores exemplify our commitment to an aggressive expansion plan in this market over the next two years," commented Len Williams, president and chief executive officer. "While other companies are scaling back, we are aggressively working to add a significant number of new stores in California," added Williams.
 The two stores represent major investments by the company in the community. As a result of these new store openings, approximately 50 jobs will be created in each community for area residents.
 Festivities for the openings will include free $5 gift certificates to the first 100 people in line at 9 a.m. on Friday morning, balloons for the kids, a clown and hundreds of unadvertised bargains. On Saturday radio station KCAL 1450 AM will broadcast live from noon to 3 p.m. at the Rialto store. Also on Saturday, station KUNA 1400 AM will broadcast live from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Cathedral City store.
 Including the new Cathedral City and Rialto stores, Pic'N'Save currently operates a chain of 219 retail stores in 12 states. These stores do business as Pic'N'Save and Mac Frugal's Bargains - Close-outs.
 Pic'N'Save, which has a loyal following of bargain shoppers, features more than 30,000 different bargains in every store. The merchandise assortment changes weekly and consists of first-quality general merchandise obtained through manufacturer close-outs, overruns, discontinued lines and packaging changes. Items such as toys, clothing, accessories, housewares, tabletop, gifts, stationery, health and beauty aids, snack foods, linens and domestics, hardware, seasonal back to school merchandise, and the just plain unexpected can be found at 40 percent to 70 percent off regular retail prices.
