PHP HEALTHCARE RE-ENGINEERS

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- PHP Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: PPH) realigned its management team with the appointment of John E. Murphy to the newly created position of chief operating officer, President and Chairman Charles H. Robbins announced today. At the same time, he announced a re-engineering of the company's operations into 10 separate business groups in order to more efficiently manage and market PHP Healthcare's comprehensive line of health care products and services.
Murphy, formerly PHP Healthcare's vice president of managed care systems, will report to an executive council headed by Robbins.
"This has been a transition year for PHP," Robbins explained. "We've grown from being primarily a government contractor to a full-service, primary care-based, managed care company. It has become necessary for our management team to focus on each service product so that we can continue to offer superior health care services at a reasonable cost. The kind of line management system we have initiated will help ensure that each of our product lines can be managed and grow to their full potential and capitalize on the much needed reforms taking place in the health industry."
