PHONE BASE COMPLETES SUPPORT OF FTC INVESTIGATION
VIENNA, Va., Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Phone Base Systems,

Incorporated, announced that its cooperation with the Federal Trade Commission's investigation into a marketing program sponsored by one of its former clients, Voices for Freedom, has resulted in a mutually agreed upon consent decree between the company and the FTC.
The client's program was terminated by Phone Base in February 1991 as a result of Voices for Freedom's unresponsiveness to Phone Base's concerns regarding various aspects of the program. Subsequently, the FTC sued Voices for Freedom and selected individuals, citing similar concerns.
The settlement calls for Phone Base to take proactive steps toward ensuring that its clients meet the spirit and intent of the Federal Trade Act in all telemarketing programs. The company notes that it is pleased to be involved in setting higher standards for the telecommunications services industry, and welcomes inquiries from other related companies interested in the development of industry- generated standards.
The agreement contains no findings of any violation of law, and the FTC sought no monetary redress from Phone Base on the matter.
Phone Base Systems is a Vienna-based systems integration and telecommunications services provider founded in 1987.
