 PHILLIP W. TAFF JOINS CROWN CENTRAL BOARD
 BALTIMORE, Jan. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Phillip W. Taff, senior vice


president and chief financial officer of American Trading and Production Corporation, was elected today a director of Crown Central Petroleum Corporation (AMEX: CNP).
 Taff joined American Trading in May 1991, after having served as executive vice president of PHH Corporation and president of PHH FleetAmerica since 1987. He joined PHH in 1979 as vice president and treasurer, and two years later was named chief financial officer. A graduate of Colorado State University, Taff has also held executive positions with Samsonite Corp. and Pillsbury Co.
 An active civic leader, Taff is chairman of the board of directors of St. Joseph Hospital and a member of the board of directors of Baltimore County Economic Development Alliance, Inc., and Baltimore Reads. He is a 1986 alumnus of the Greater Baltimore Committee Leadership Program.
 Taff replaces Donald R. Yearwood, senior vice president of American Trading, who has resigned from Crown's board.
