PHILADELPHIA ELECTRIC SHOWS CUSTOMERS HOW TO SAVE MONEY AT 1993 HOME SHOW

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The 1993 Home Show opens this week in Philadelphia and this year Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO) (NYSE: PE) will be showing visitors ways to save energy and money.
PECO will have a 40-foot energy conservation booth at the Civic Center demonstrating ways to save energy. The booth emphasizes interior and exterior conservation around the home by showing customers how to use proper insulation, lighting and appliances. The display features cut-away sections of walls and ceilings to demonstrate valuable energy saving tips.
New technologies are also being exhibited like a natural gas vehicle fueling appliance and a cordless, electric lawn mower. Both can dramatically reduce the emissions that contribute to air pollution.
Other demonstrations will give consumers practical ideas on where they can save money in their own homes by carefully using hot water, weatherstripping exterior doors, and using compact fluorescent light bulbs. Employees will be on hand to answer customers' concerns and questions.
 The Home Show opens at the Civic Center Feb. 5 and runs through Feb. 14. It's open weeknights from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 12, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturdays 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
