PHILADELPHIA ELECTRIC SHOWCASES ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMS DURING EARTH WEEK

 PHILADELPHIA ELECTRIC SHOWCASES ENVIRONMENTAL
 PROGRAMS DURING EARTH WEEK
PHILADELPHIA, April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Philadelphia Electric Company (NYSE: PE) is using Earth Week '92 to promote energy conservation.
On Monday, April 20, the first day of Earth Week, PE will show customers how to save money and energy at the same time. In the atrium of Liberty Place in downtown Philadelphia, compact fluorescent light bulbs will be on display. Compact fluorescent light bulbs can last 10 times longer, use less electricity and save consumers more than $50 over the life of the bulb.
PE will also have a natural gas vehicle on display at Liberty Place. Natural Gas is becoming the alternative fuel of choice. It's 40 percent cheaper per gallon to operate a vehicle on natural gas, and it's a cleaner burning fuel. PE now has 50 natural gas vehicles, but the corporate commitment to help the environment calls for that number to grow dramatically.
On Earth SunDay, April 26, PE will provide consumers with energy conservation information between noon and 5 p.m. at Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park. The company will be distributing energy kits with money saving tips and suggestions customers can use at home. Two natural gas vehicles will also be on display.
