 PHILADELPHIA ELECTRIC COMPANY RELEASES ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING
 $9.50, 1986 SERIES, PREFERRED STOCK SINKING FUND
 PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Philadelphia Electric Company (NYSE: PE) announced today it will redeem 7,500 shares of its $9.50, 1986 Series, Preferred Stock by lot to satisfy a Nov. 1, 1992, sinking fund requirement.
 The company said it also intends to exercise its option to redeem an additional 37,500 shares.
 The redemption price will be $100 per share.
