PHILADELPHIA ELECTRIC COMPANY ISSUES ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING $9.52 PREFERRED STOCK SINKING FUND

    PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Philadelphia Electric Company (NYSE: PE) announced today that it will redeem 20,000 shares of its $9.52 Preferred Stock by lot to satisfy a May 1, 1993, sinking fund requirement.
    The company also has the option to redeem up to an additional 20,000 shares.
     The redemption price will be $100 per share.
