PHILADELPHIA BELL OF PENNSYLVANIA CUSTOMERS TO HAVE CONVENIENCE OF
PAYING TELEPHONE BILLS AT APPROXIMATELY 70 NEW LOCATIONS
PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Bell of Pennsylvania customers in the Philadelphia area soon will have the convenience of paying their telephone bills at approximately 70 new locations throughout the city.
Bell said it plans to close six company-operated payment centers while offering customers a variety of different bill-payment locations within their communities. Today, Bell of Pennsylvania has more than 40 authorized payment agents in the Philadelphia area, in addition to the six company-operated locations.
"The new locations will offer far more convenience and flexibility to our customers," said Andrea Custis, director of Bell's residence service centers. "We carefully select authorized payment agents to provide customers with more opportunities within their neighborhoods -- at stores and businesses that are open seven days a week -- and during the evening," Custis said.
The first of the Bell of Pennsylvania owned payment offices to close will be the center at 2000 S. Broad St., which will close Oct. 2, 1992.
Beginning in September, Bell of Pennsylvania will advise customers about these changes via notices included with monthly telephone bills. In addition, a list of the locations authorized to accept payment of telephone bills will be posted at the Bell of Pennsylvania-operated sites scheduled for closing.
"We want to give our customers as much advance notice as possible about the additional payment opportunities," Custis said.
