PHELPS DODGE ELECTS GENERAL COUNSEL PHOENIX, Arizona, November 7, 1991 /PRNewswire/ -- Phelps Dodge
Corporation (NYSE: PD) today announced the election of Scott A.
Crozier as Vice President and General Counsel. He succeeds J.
Steven Whisler, who has become President of Phelps Dodge Mining Company. Mr. Crozier will assume responsibility for the company's legal department and will oversee certain of the company's staff functions, including environmental services, government relations, and the corporate secretary's office.
Mr. Crozier, 40, joined Phelps Dodge in 1987 as Senior Counsel and has served as Associate General Counsel since 1990. He was Assistant Counsel of Talley Industries, Inc., from 1980-1987. Prior to working with Talley, he had been a Special Assistant to the Arizona Attorney General and a Staff Attorney with the Arizona Corporation Commission. Mr. Crozier holds B.A. (magna cum laude) and J.D. degrees from Arizona State University. He is a member of the Arizona and American Bar Associations.
