PHARMACY TECHNICIAN GROUP ESSEX COUNTY COLLEGE: AN INNOVATIVE
RELATIONSHIP FILLING THE NEED FOR TRAINED HEALTH-CARE PROFESSIONALS
WEST CALDWELL, N.J., Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- A unique alliance between Pharmacy Technician Group, Inc. and Essex County College is helping to meet the demand for trained pharmacy professionals.
This break-through arrangement includes an introductory program that prepares individuals to be competent and productive pharmacy technicians -- professionals who effectively perform ancillary duties, specific to the dispensing of medications, while under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
The training program combines traditional classroom learning with intensive, hands-on workshops in areas such as health care terminology, elementary pharmacy mathematics, measures and weights, dispensing procedures and hospital pharmacy.
By the conclusion of the Pharmacy Technicians Group, Inc./Essex County College training program, individuals will have acquired the basic skills to begin assisting pharmacists in their day-to-day activities.
With this new and innovative relationship, Pharmacy Technician Group, Inc. and Essex County College hope to achieve the perfect balance between traditional higher education and on-the-job training in an effort to provide pharmacists with valuable assistants.
For more information regarding the course curriculum or individuals who have completed the program, contact Herb Brandt, R.Ph. of Pharmacy Technician Group, Inc. at 201-227-2521.
