PHARMACY TECHNICIAN GROUP, INC. ANNOUNCES THE EXPANSION OF THEIR
TRAINING PROGRAM TO INCLUDE BROOKDALE COMMUNITY COLLEGE
WEST CALDWELL, N.J., /PRNewswire/ -- In an effort to further benefit the pharmacists of New Jersey, Pharmacy Technician Group, Inc. has announced the addition of Brookdale Community College in Monmouth County, N.J. to their training program. Classes to train pharmacy technicians began in February 1992, with additional classes expected to start shortly. The program, which originated at Essex County College in West Caldwell, is designed to meet the demand for trained healthcare professionals. This introductory course trains individuals to be competent and productive pharmacy technicians -- professionals who effectively perform ancillary duties, specific to the dispensing of medications, while under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
The program has been expanded to include the association with Brookdale Community College to provide pharmacists in all parts of New Jersey with valuable trained assistants.
The training program curriculum combines higher education and on- the-job practical experience with intensive, hands-on workshops in areas such as Health Care Terminology, Elementary Pharmacy Mathematics, Measures and Weights, Dispensing Procedures and Hospital Pharmacy. This same curriculum used successfully in Essex County College will be employed at Brookdale Community College.
For more information regarding the course curriculum or individuals who have completed the program, contact Herb Brandt, R.Ph. of pharmacy Technician Group, Inc. at 201-227-2521.
