PHARMACEUTICAL FIRMS NAMED IN LAWSUITS

ORANGE, Calif., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Bergen Brunswig Corp. (AMEX: BBC) reported today that two civil actions have been filed against it, two other distributors and several pharmaceutical manufacturers alleging price discrimination in violation of California's Cartwright Act. Both suits have been commenced by pharmacies located in the San Francisco Bay area and were filed in the Superior Court of California in San Francisco. The suit by Alameda Drug Co. Inc. is a private action. The other suit, by Morris Boynoff, is a private and a class action.
Bergen Brunswig believes that the lawsuits against it are without merit and the company intends to defend them vigorously.
