PFA discards 115,000-litre adulterated milk.

LAHORE -- The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Friday discarded 115,000 liters of adulterated milk all-over the province.

The food safety teams conducted screening at different pickets from Lahore to Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur to Attock in all 36 districts of the province.

In Lahore, pickets were set up at Thokar Niaz Baig, Gajju Matta, Sagian, Bhobtiya Chowk, Ravi Interchange and other entry points of the city for checking milk vehicles. As much as 22,000 litres of tainted milk was recovered from dozen of vehicles and split on-the-spot.

The PFA wasted 10,000 litres in Rawalpindi, 730 litres in Jhang, 169 litres in Toba Take Singh, 3,010 litres in Gujranwala, 565 litres in Sialkot, 10,020 litres in Gujrat, 1,085 litres in Bahawalpur,

119 litres in Bhawalnagar, 1,165 litres in Rahim Yar Khan, 170 litres in Khanewal, 300 litres in Sahiwal, 390 litres in Okara, 550 litres in Sargodha, 75 litres in Chakwal, 170 litres in Dera Ghazi Khan, 350 litres in Layyah, 300 litres in Rajanpur and 63,832 litres in 18 other districts.
