PETsMART HOSTS MOBILE PET ADOPTIONS

 PETsMART HOSTS MOBILE PET ADOPTIONS
 PHOENIX, Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- PETsMART, the nation's leading

retailer of pet food and supplies, will host Mobile Pet Adoption Day at its stores on Feb. 29.
According to national statistics, 70,000 puppies and kittens are born in our country each day. Far too many are born without the chance of a loving family to raise and care for them. The unique philosophy of PETsMART advocates the adoption of homeless pets from shelters and other facilities. Therefore, PETsMART does not sell dogs, cats, puppies or kittens at any of its stores. Instead, PETsMART encourages its customers to help reduce the pet overpopulation problem by adopting companion animals.
During mobile adoptions, local shelters and animal humane organizations will showcase pets that otherwise might be left unwanted in the shelter. These homeless pets will be at PETsMART stores on Saturday, Feb. 29, where the animals can be adopted by caring individuals. Check local stores for adoption times.
The theme of this year's mobile adoption program is "We're Life Savers!" Everyone who adopts a pet during mobile adoptions will receive a special memento that proclaims "I Saved a Life at PETsMART!" Last year, more than 3,000 lives were saved through mobile adoptions at PETsMART.
Mobile adoptions are a joint effort between PETsMART and the many local shelters its supports. Shelter volunteers will man the mobile adoptions, providing advice on caring for newly adopted pets.
PETsMART caters to dogs, cats, hamsters, birds, fish, rabbits and other small animals. Pet owners are encouraged to bring their pets along while they shop. As any PETsMART customer can attest, PETsMART gives a new meaning to the call for "Clean up on aisle six!"
PETsMART currently operates 36 stores in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. The corporation plans to double its number of stores in the coming year.
PETsMART, a privately held corporation, is located at 10000 N. 31st Ave., Suite C-300, Phoenix, AZ 85051. For more information, contact Missy Lagomarsino at 602-998-3154.
