PETSMART OFFERS REBATES ON PET ADOPTIONS DURING 'LUV A PET' MONTH
PHOENIX, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- PETsMART, the nation's leading retailer of pet food, supplies and services, is making it easier than ever to adopt homeless pets from shelters and humane organizations during "Luv A Pet" month.
Throughout the month of November, PETsMART will offer a 25 percent cash rebate -- up to $15 -- on any pet adoption from a shelter or animal humane organization. New pet owners can simply bring their adoption papers to any PETsMART store for an on-the-spot cash refund. No purchase is required, and new owners are encouraged to bring their new pets with them into the store to receive their rebates.
PETsMART Promotions Manager Cozette Phifer says that more than 6,000 animals were adopted last June as a result of Luv A Pet, amounting to more than $30,000 in cash rebates from PETsMART stores.
"We are very proud to be taking a proactive role in the battle to control pet overpopulation," said Phifer. "It's gratifying to know that Luv A Pet can so effectively support the ceaseless efforts of animal shelters and humane organizations."
The "Luv A Pet" program is just one example of PETsMART's dedication to the care and well-being of companion animals. Concerned with the large number of abandoned pets in this country, PETsMART does not sell dogs, cats, puppies or kittens in any of its stores nationwide. Instead, PETsMART advocates the adoption of pets through local shelters and other qualified facilities.
In addition to its "Luv A Pet" promotion, PETsMART stores regularly donate store space to animal humane organizations to offer pets for adoption. These Luv A Pet adoption centers allow space for 16 to 20 homeless dogs and cats looking to become part of a loving family.
A distinguishing characteristic among PETsMART stores is its commitment to customer service and satisfaction. PETsMART achieves this goal through rigorous training of its store associates. Every employee participates in a series of specialized educational training programs that cover each area of the industry from dogs and cats to birds, fish, equine sciences and more.
PETsMART currently operates 50 stores located in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah, with corporate headquarters in Phoenix, Ariz.
