 PETROS K. SABATACAKIS JOINS AIG AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT,
 FINANCIAL SERVICES
 NEW YORK, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- American International Group Inc. (NYSE: AIG) announced today that Petros K. Sabatacakis has joined the company as senior vice president, Financial Services. He will report to Edward E. Matthews, AIG vice chairman, Finance.
 Sabatacakis, 45, has over 20 years experience in financial services and has been an executive at Chemical Bank since 1975. His most recent position was head of Chemical Bank's Capital Markets and Treasury division where he had responsibility for securities, foreign exchange and derivative products trading and distribution worldwide, and funding, liquidity and interest rate risk management for all of Chemical Bank. His prior positions at Chemical included group executive, Balance Sheet Management and Capital Markets; senior vice president, Funding and Investments; and Capital Markets chief of staff.
 Commenting on the appointment, Matthews said: "We are extremely pleased to have Mr. Sabatacakis join AIG in this key management position. He brings a great deal of financial market, banking and financial management experience to our Financial Services Group."
 Sabatacakis holds Ph.D., M.B.A. and B.S. degrees from New York's Columbia University.
