CARLISLE chief Greg Abbott insisted that not even the 'Special One' would have saved his team from a good hiding at Posh.

Abbott moaned: "I don't think Mourinho could have stopped that scoreline."

It took Posh just two minutes to open the scoring, Craig Mackail-Smith crossing for Tommy Rowe to slide home. They doubled their advantage in the 24th minute as Mackail-Smith headed home while George Boyd capitalised on some hesitant defending to make it 3-0. Grant McCann then missed a penalty but Carlisle's woes increased when Liam Cooper was sent off.

Posh went 4-0 up through Ryan Bennett while Boyd's second and David Ball made it six, with Boyd missing another penalty late on.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson said: "It was very satisfying and enjoyable to see my team play that way. We won the game easily but also played some very, very good football."
