 PETER STARRETT NAMED PRESIDENT, WORLDWIDE RETAIL,
 WARNER BROS. CONSUMER PRODUCTS
 BURBANK, Calif., June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Peter Starrett has been appointed president of Warner Bros. Worldwide Retail, it was announced today by Dan Romanelli, president of Warner Bros. Consumer Products.
 Starrett, who assumes the post effective immediately, most recently served as senior vice president, director of retail of Warner Bros. Consumer Products Division. In his new position, he will be responsible for all aspects of Warner Bros. retail expansion worldwide.
 Stated Romanelli, "Peter has been a tremendous asset to Warner Bros. since he joined us two years ago. His creativity and ability in effectively developing and implementing our new retail business and the Warner Bros. Studio Store operations, have already made him a valued and important part of our executive team."

 Starrett joined Warner Bros. in May of 1990 as senior vice president, director of retail. He had been president, chief executive officer of Plymouth Lamston Stores Corp., in Saddle Brook, N.J. Prior to that, he spent six years at Federated Department Stores as chairman, chief executive officer of the Specialty Store Division from 1986 to 1988, and as senior vice president, general merchandise manager of the Filene's Division from 1983 through 1986. Previously, he was vice president, general merchandise manager of the May Co. in Los Angeles from 1975 through 1983.
 Starrett attended the University of Denver where he received his bachelor of science and bachelor of arts degrees and went on to receive his master of business administration degree at Harvard Business School in 1975.
 The Warner Bros. Studio Stores debuted in September 1991 in four locations around the country, offering a unique assortment of retail merchandise in a state-of-the-art, entertainment-oriented environment. The stores bucked the national retail trend, posting strong sales that exceeded company projections and setting the stage for expansion plans for 15 additional stores for 1992. In May of 1992, the first Warner Bros. Studio Store in the studio's 1992 expansion plan opened to blockbuster business at Caesar's Forum Shops in Las Vegas.
