PERV IN HIDING; EXCLUSIVE Phone pest runs for cover.
A PHONE sex pervert found working in a school by the Irish Daily Mirror has gone into hiding.
Vile Sean McKenna, 42, was nowhere to be seen yesterday after we tracked him down at Ballybay Community College in Co Monaghan.
Our exclusive photos showed McKenna mingling and chatting to students as they returned to class. School authorities were unaware of McKenna's conviction and have launched a major probe.
McKenna, who was working as an electrician for a contractor, was due to be at the school for a month but has disappeared from the site.
One outraged parent called on the Government to act immediately to stop perverts from working in schools. She said: "I can't believe that a man with McKenna's history was allowed to get so close to our children.
"I am shocked that people working in schools are not checked out by the gardai."
McKenna was blasted by Judge Sean McBride after his conviction last January.
Describing the phone calls as "salacious", Justice McBride said it was one of the worst cases of its type to appear before him.
Despite his conviction, McKenna avoided jail after giving EUR7,440 to his victim.
He was given a five-month suspended jail term and a 200- hour community service order.
McKenna tormented the teenager for two months.
A loophole allows perverts like McKenna to work in schools without going through background checks.
