PERSONAL INFO-CLIPS -- THE NEWS YOU WANT, WHEN YOU WANT IT!

ATLANTA, June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Building on its experience and success in Los Angeles, BellSouth Cellular Corp. (BSCC) today initiated a second commercial trial of its Personal Info Clips(sm) service in BellSouth Mobility markets in Orlando, Daytona and Melbourne, Fla.
Personal Info Clips provides information supplied by the Dow Jones PersonalInfo Network, a service of Dow Jones & Company, Inc. BellSouth Mobility (BMI) cellular customers can customize a package of news and information including up-to-date business information, stock and mutual fund quotes, weather and traffic updates and dozens of other categories. The information is then deposited into a voice mail box for retrieval at the customers' convenience.
The six month trial is available to Orlando, Daytona and Melbourne customers of BMI. Joyce Jarema, manager-New Products and Services said: "This time-efficient information service increases productivity and is easy to use. It's a great way to filter through all the information out there and get just the news that's important to you and your business. You get the information you need, when you need it."
"Dow Jones is pleased to participate in Personal Info Clips in central Florida," said Thomas Pace, executive director of Telco Alliance Development at Dow Jones. "We think our information has special value delivered to people in this way."
Customers can choose from 130 categories including financial market updates, traffic information, local and national sports and movie reviews. Jarema added: "Customers pick exactly the information they want to have deposited into their voice mail box. When they're ready to listen to it, all the latest information is there."
A special feature of this program, called PIC Plus, provides expanded categories for personalized stock, mutual fund and money market price quotations. If the customer wants to follow personal investments, he or she can have up to 20 individual stock, mutual fund or money market price quotes delivered directly into his or her mail box. Also available are stock market updates, Dow Jones averages, Hot Stocks report, Wall Street Insights, Commodities Update, Bond Market updates and other information. All the financial information is updated frequently throughout the day.
Additionally, the Florida trial allows customers who don't want voice mail capabilities to use the service. "A special mailbox will be set up to receive the information a customer chooses, but unlike regular voice mail, callers to the customers' cellular number will not be able to leave messages," Jarema said.
The information is kept current, some news is updated as often as every 15 minutes and the system allows for constant additions, deletions or changes to the category mix.
To use the service, customers choose the categories they want, then place a call to their voice mail box as usual, and after hearing their personal messages, the Personal Info Clips information immediately follows. The categories are only entered once so customers don't have to continuously press buttons to obtain access to the information.
The charge for the service is $2.95 per month. A package that adds
individual stock, mutual fund and money market price quotes to the basic plan is $8.95 per month. The customer also pays airtime for the service.
BellSouth Mobility, a part of BellSouth Cellular Corp., provides cellular service to 780,000 customers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee.
BellSouth Cellular Corp. serves more than 1.5 million customers in markets managed by BellSouth and its partners in 15 states.
