PERFORMANCE TECHNOLOGIES DEBUTS TWO EMBEDDED ETHERNET SWITCHES.
"We have a long history of developing networking equipment, and these new products represent a new set of systems and solutions that enable advanced packet-based systems utilizing Network Address Translation, Load Sharing and IP Tunneling," said Hank Heneghan, director of product management for Performance Technologies. "When using these switches, developers of communications, defense and other server blade systems can field rugged solutions that offer up to four times the throughput of current PCI architectures, with a much quicker time-to-market."
The CPC4411 and CPC4416 offer the highest reliability available by continuously checking their health. If a problem is detected, the affected switch will autonomously de-assert all links, signaling the attached devices to use another route. Both switches include the comprehensive Layer2/Layer3 switching software developed by Performance Technologies for use on all IPnexus 10/100/1000 switching products. The CPC4411 and CPC4416 offer the most complete embedded Ethernet switch feature set in the market, including 802.3AD Link Aggregation, 802.1q VLANs and 802.1p QoS/CoS.
The CPC4416 and CPC4411 are full wire speed Layer2/3 10/100/1000 Ethernet switching platforms. Both models feature 24 10/100 auto negotiating Ethernet ports and either two Gb TX or fiber uplink ports. Each is designed to be used as either a high speed interconnect between devices in a chassis or as a core switch in a fault-tolerant cluster of embedded systems.
The IPnexus CPC4416 and CPC4411 will be available in September. Pricing begins at $3995.
