PERCEPTRON, INC. MOVES TO NASDAQ-NATIONAL MARKET Leading 3-D Imaging Solutions Company Upgrades Security Listing

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Perceptron, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: PRCP) announced today that it has qualified for and will now list on the NASDAQ-National Market System, effective today, July 8, 1992. This upgrades the company's stock which was previously traded on the NASDAQ-SmallCap listing since its Initial Public Offering in August 1992.
"Trading on the NASDAQ National Market is a key milestone in the program we began one month ago to enhance shareholder value," commented James E. McGrath, chairman of Perceptron. "We believe that this listing should help us develop further investor interest in our company, and improve our overall visibility in the financial community to the clear benefit of our shareholders. We are particularly pleased that our business progress, including record earnings in 1992 and a strengthened balance sheet, has positioned Perceptron to be able to qualify for this critical listing. This comes at a particularly important time, because it will complement and enhance other programs, such as the management incentive plan we are currently developing."
"We are delighted to announce that Perceptron moves from NASDAQ's SmallCap Market to its National Market," said Joseph R. Hardiman, president and chief executive officer of The NASDAQ Stock Market. "NASDAQ's SmallCap Market has proved invaluable in helping small companies raise initial capital to start up or expand their business. As companies grow in value, they move to the National Market, which is home to many of America's leading high-tech and growth companies. NASDAQ is the fastest growing equities market in the U.S. Growth companies like Perceptron are the reasons why NASDAQ has been so successful."
Perceptron is a leading 3-D imaging solutions company which develops and markets non-contact measurement and guidance systems. Its laser- based datacameras, image-processing hardware and proprietary software are used by leading auto makers, automation system companies and other manufacturers in object recognition, measurement, guidance and inspection applications. Perceptron products are marketed in North America, Europe and Asia.
