PEPSI-COLA'S NEW LOOK HITS NORTHEAST OHIO

PEPSI-COLA'S NEW LOOK HITS NORTHEAST OHIO
TWINSBURG, Ohio, Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Pepsi-Cola of Cleveland has

completed the first production run of cans bearing the fresh, updated graphics that have been developed for its regular Pepsi-Cola and Diet Pepsi-Cola brands, Ohio's No. 1 and No. 2 selling soft drinks, respectively. These new cans along with other popular packages bearing the new graphics will begin to appear on retailer shelves throughout Northeast Ohio as existing inventories are depleted.
This initial run of new Pepsi packages will bear a commemorative seal that acknowledges the fact that these cans are the first of their kind. Nostalgia buffs may want to pick up some old and new Pepsi cans for their collection.
The new Pepsi graphics represent the culmination of years of work to develop a design which enhances its image, closely links Pepsi and Diet Pepsi and remains recognizably Pepsi. "These graphics are designed to take our logo into the 21st century and to strengthen our position as the soft drink for today and tomorrow. The look is different; the great taste of Pepsi and Diet Pepsi remains the same," said Craig Weatherup, president and chief executive officer, Pepsi-Cola North America. Pepsi will be announcing this change with an advertising campaign slated for mid-December. New broadcast advertising will support the tagline: "New Look -- Same Great Taste" and will feature world renowned model Cindy Crawford.
Pepsi consumers actually prefer the new design three-to-one over current graphics. They claim the new look is more youthful, contemporary and eye-catching.
