PEPSI REMAINS KOSHER IN ISRAEL

SOMERS, N.Y., June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Pepsi-Cola Company today released the following statement:
Today's press reports have erroneously stated that Pepsi-Cola has lost its kosher status in Israel.
 Here are the facts:
-- Pepsi's ingredients and status remain kosher in Israel. Pepsi-Cola products continue to be produced under rabbinical supervision in Israel.
-- At issue are the scheduled dates for a Michael Jackson concert in Israel. The concert's tentatively scheduled date was found to be in conflict with the High Holy Days this fall, and remedial action was immediately initiated.
-- Pepsi-Cola is sensitive to and respectful of cultural and religious traditions and practices, and we agree that the Jackson concert should not take place during an important religious holiday. Both Pepsi-Cola and Michael Jackson's management have contacted the local concert promoter to ask for the date to be changed.
