PEPID LLC Launches New CD-ROM Format for Medical Software Database.

PEPID LLC, the premier developer of handheld decision support tools for the medical community, today announced that its proprietary medical software databases are now also available in CD-ROM format.

This new format will allow users to quickly download information found on PEPID CD-ROMs to their Palm OS and Pocket PC PDAs or to their PC. PEPID's CD-ROMs provide physicians and healthcare professionals with a new format to access critical information when and where they need it.

PEPID products are comprehensive medical software programs which provide instant access to critical information for all emergency and primary care situations and has the power to improve point-of-care decisions and reduce medical errors at the patient's bedside or in the field. It is the ultimate portable medical and drug reference tool that addresses all issues medical personnel face in everyday practice. Each of its databases include more than 1,500 medical topics and over 1,400 drugs. Each trauma and medical category includes diagnosis, pathophysiology, treatment and disposition essentials plus special sections just for nurses, medical students or EMS personnel.

The program was developed in 1994 when a team of 35 medical and pharmaceutical professionals came together and created the first version of PEPID, now called PEPID ED, The Portable Emergency Physician Information Database PEPID ED was then field tested over 4 years in emergency departments and by a branch of the US armed forces.
