PEOPLE: Exova appoints new European MD.
He joins Exova from CHEP, the world's leading provider of pallet and container pooling services, where he was senior vice president for sales and customer operations and responsible for managing $1.2 billion of annual revenue.
Prior to this, he was managing director of CHEP's business in the UK and Ireland where, with responsibility for all commercial and operational activity, he delivered both increased revenue and operating profit during his tenure.
Prior to joining CHEP in 2002, he spent 12 years with BOC where he held senior commercial roles and also established his engineering credentials on projects including the development of new cryogenic freezing and chilling technology.
At Exova, Pooley will have responsibility for 36 testing facilities and over 1,000 experts across Europe supporting customers in the aerospace, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, food and industrials sectors.
Exova's CEO, Ian El Mokadem, commented on Pooley's appointment. He said: "Mike brings a strong customer focus combined with excellent operational management experience gained in international markets. His appointment further signals our commitment to offering our customers the best possible service through our global network of facilities".

Pooley is an engineering graduate of the University of Bath and achieved a MBA in 2002 with Henley Management College.
