PENTIUM III PROCESSORS OFFERED IN DELL WORKSTATIONS.

Dell Computer Corporation (NASDAQ:DELL), Round Rock, Texas, the world's leading direct computer systems company, has launched the new Intel(R) Pentium(R) III processor in Dell Precision(tm) WorkStations.

Both the mid-range Dell Precision WorkStation 410 and entry-level Dell Precision WorkStation 210 are available with 450MHz or 500MHz Pentium III processors in single- and dual-processor configurations. Dell will also offer the 550MHz Pentium III processor in Dell Precision WorkStations upon general availability.

"Dell customers will find that the Pentium III processor, with its Streaming SIMD Extensions, is designed to offer enhanced performance on a broad set of workstation-related applications ranging from digital content creation to financial analysis and complex 3D graphic simulations," said Peter Karnazes, general manager, Dell Precision WorkStations. "Dell's direct model again enables workstation customers to quickly receive the industry's most relevant technologies at reasonable prices."

Dell shared the No. 1 position in the worldwide personal workstation market for the 1998 calendar year.

Prices for Dell Precision WorkStations with the new Pentium III processor will begin at $1,997(2). A full list of prices and configurations for these systems can be found on the World Wide Web at http://www.dell.com/products/workstat/.

Dell Precision WorkStations are intended for professional users who demand exceptional performance in the computer-aided design (CAD), digital content creation (DCC), geographic information systems (GIS), computer animation, software development and financial analysis markets. Dell Precision WorkStations are designed to support Windows(R) 2000.

All of Dell's workstation products are dual-processor-capable. In addition to the Dell Precision WorkStation 210 and 410, Dell also offers the Dell Precision WorkStation 610, based on the Intel Pentium II Xeon(tm) processor.
