PENSIONER HURT IN KNIFE RAID.

AN 80-YEAR-old man was threatened and attacked with a knife at his home.

The pensioner was left with cuts to his face and hands following the assault at around 12.25am lasst Thursday.

Police said today the victim answered the front door at his home in Egerton, Skelmersdale and was confronted by a man who asked if he could use his phone.

When he declined, the attacker tried to push past him, then pulled out a knife and thrust it towards him.

The victim suffered cuts but managed to push the attacker out and closed the door.

Anyone with information on the incident should call police on 101.
