PENRIL DATABILITY NETWORKS BUILDS ON INDUSTRY-LEADING TERMINAL AND COMMUNICATIONS SERVER POSITION

 GAITHERSBURG, Md., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Penril Datability Networks, a division of Penril DataComm Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: PNRL) today announced that it has introduced the VCP-PLUS Series of single and multi-protocol terminal and communications servers, building on the company's No. 2 position in the market as reported by IDC (International Data Corporation).
 The VCP-PLUS Series, an enhanced version of Penril Datability's popular VCP200/300 and VCP1000 terminal and communications servers, offers additional functionality through a variety of new protocol-rich features, including increased UNIX compatibility that will allow the company to further strengthen its position in the UNIX marketplace.
 Managed by an SNMP agent, the VCP200/300-PLUS supports port speeds of up to 57.6 Kbps either locally or remotely, through a dial-up modem. Available next month through Penril Datability's worldwide distribution channel, the VCP-PLUS Series starts at $1,999.
