PENNSYLVANIA POWER & LIGHT CO. NAMES NEW SUSQUEHANNA DIVISION VICE PRESIDENT

 ALLENTOWN, Pa., April 29 /PRNewswire/ --Pennsylvania Power & Light Co.'s (NYSE: PPL) manager-System Planning, a 19-year veteran of the utility, was named vice president of the company's Susquehanna Division Wednesday.
 Robert M. Geneczko, manager-System Planning since 1989, is a native of Luzerne County who has lived in the Allentown area since joining PP&L in 1974. Geneczko replaces Raymond F. Suhocki, the former Susquehanna Division vice president who was named vice president-System Power last month.
 "We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Bob to this important position," said Joseph C. Krum, senior vice president- Division Operations. "He has extensive experience in a number of management and planning positions within PP&L. Bob also has been deeply involved in studying some of the important competitive changes that are coming to the utility industry.
 "We are sure the people of the Williamsport and surrounding communities, which make up our Susquehanna Division, will enjoy working with Bob," said Krum.
 The appointment is effective May 1. Geneczko joined PP&L as an engineer following graduation from Lafayette College with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He also worked as a project and senior project engineer in the System Planning department before being named manager-New Capacity Planning and Energy Analysis in 1981. He also served as manager-Fuel Development before being named manager-System Planning in 1989.
 Geneczko is a registered professional engineer and is a member of the Engineering Club of the Lehigh Valley.
 He is married to the former Patricia McGeady of Bethlehem. They have four children, Margaret, Daniel, William and Stephen.
 PP&L supplies electricity to a 10,000 square-mile area of 29 counties in Central Eastern Pennsylvania. Among the communities it serves are Allentown, Bethlehem, Harrisburg, Hazleton, Lancaster, Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and Williamsport.
