PENNDOT ISSUES FORT PITT TUNNEL TRAFFIC ADVISORY

PENNDOT ISSUES FORT PITT TUNNEL TRAFFIC ADVISORY
PITTSBURGH, Oct. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Department of

Transportation (PennDOT) today issued the following advisory.
-- Fort Pitt Tunnel - Pittsburgh:
The Department of Transportation wants to remind motorists, especially those from out of state, that tomahawks, especially made of foam rubber, are not permitted through the Fort Pitt Tunnel, and along any route that leads to Pittsburgh's Three Rivers Stadium.
Signs will advise motorists of this newly enacted restriction with the international symbol for "No Tomahawks." A spokesman for PennDOT said that recepticles will be conveniently placed near the tunnels for disposal of this unsightly and potentially dangerous contraband. The penalty for violations could be severe fines and perhaps imprisonment.
The effort is a public service of the Department of Transportation and part of the Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful Campaign.
