PENNDOT ISSUES CONSTRUCTION-RELATED TRAFFIC BULLETINS
    PITTSBURGH, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today issued the following construction-related traffic bulletins.
    -- I-279 - North Hills and East Street Valley:
    On Sunday, Oct. 4, between 7 a.m. and nightfall, motorists will encounter periodic long-term closings of I-279, both directions, in the East Street Valley, between southbound Exit No. 19-Perrysville and Exit No. 16-Hazlett Street.
    Six complete closures of the highway for periods of up to 45 minutes will occur during the dismantling, removal, relocation and reassembly of a sign structure over the expressway.
    Motorists should anticipate delays. Southbound traffic will be detoured to Route 19 south to East Street and back onto I-279 via the entrance at East Street and East Ohio Street. During the periods when the expressway is closed, northbound traffic will be detoured from Hazlett Street to East Street, to Route 19.  Detours will be posted. The HOV lanes will also be closed for the duration of the operation. Police officers will be on duty to direct traffic.
    -- Business Route 22 - Monroeville:
    On Sunday, Oct. 4, from 7 a.m. until nightfall, the intersection of Business Route 22 and Route 48 will be resurfaced. Various lane restrictions will be in place. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find alternate routes. Major delays are expected. Police will be on duty to attempt to maintain traffic through the work zone.
    Schedules are subject to weather conditions.
