PECO OPENS NEW CHESTER CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICE

PHILADELPHIA, July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its continuing efforts to enhance customer service, Philadelphia Electric Company (NYSE: PE) (PECO) said it will open a new full-service bill payment location in Chester on Monday, July 19.
The new office at 240 East 13th St. (at the corner of Edgemont Avenue) will provide free customer parking adjacent to the building and a drive-through bill payment window.
PECO's existing Chester bill payment office at 18 East Fifth St. will close at the end of business Friday, July 16.
In addition, PECO has recently expanded its network of commercial automated bill payment locations, including banks, grocery and convenience stores. The new bill payment sites offer a wider variety of operating hours and more convenient travel for those who prefer to pay their PECO bill in person rather than by mail.
In the Chester area, PECO customers can pay their bill at: Banta & Shelton Inc., 2200 W. Second St.; Ninth Street Check Cashing, 610 W. Ninth St.; Financial Exchange, 408 Avenue of the States; Lou's of Chester, Inc., 512 Avenue of the States; Chester News & Lottery, 701 Avenue of the States; Drug Center, 3428 Edgemont Avenue, Brookhaven; Fran & Bill's Variety, 1935 W. MacDade Blvd., Woodlyn.
PECO also offers ZIPCHECK, a free electronic bill payment service. It is a new option for customers to pay their utility bills without writing a check. Using ZIPCHECK, PECO bills are automatically paid from a customer's checking or savings account. The customer does not need to mail a check and there are no charges for the electronic transaction. Once a customer joins ZIPCHECK, they will be notified of the exact amount to be deducted from their designated bank account at least 10 days prior to the transfer each month.
For more information, customers can call the PECO ZIPCHECK hotline at 1-800-762-2090.
