PECO'S PEACH BOTTOM UNIT 3 RETURNED TO SERVICE

PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO) (NYSE: PE) said today that Unit 3 at its Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station in York County, Pa., has returned to service after a brief shutdown.
The unit, which was manually shut down by plant operators Friday morning, July 30, was restarted on Friday afternoon, reconnected to the regional power grid on Saturday afternoon, and returned to full power operation today.
PECO said a fuse failed on Friday, resulting in a loss of vacuum on the unit's condenser system in the non-nuclear portion of the plant.
The fuse was replaced and the unit was restarted. The cause of the fuse failure is under investigation.
