PECHINEY REPORTS CONSOLIDATED SALES FOR FIRST HALF OF 1992
GREENWICH, Conn., Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The following statement is being issued by the Pechiney Group in Paris today.
Consolidated Sales for the First Half of 1992
Preliminary consolidated sales for the first half of 1992 amounted to FF 35,482 million, compared with FF 38,229 for the same period in 1991, based on an historical structure. The average rate of exchange for the U.S. dollar vis-a-vis the French franc was FF 5.48 for the 1992 period, versus FF 5.54 for the first half of 1991.
Using a comparable structure by restating 1991 sales, the group's manufacturing sales -- excluding sales of the International Trade department -- declined 4.2 percent from the first half of 1991 to the same period in 1992.
The figures include the revenues of the nuclear fuel and zirconium and titanium businesses -- part of the group's related industrial activities sector -- whose sale was announced in June 1992 and will be completed during the second half of 1992. These activities accounted for revenues of FF 1,365 million during the first six months of 1992, compared with FF 1,306 million during the 1991 period.
Contributions to consolidated sales by sector of activity were as follows:
 PECHINEY GROUP

 activities 3,505 3,713

 Pechiney International
Excluding aluminum and international trade activities, which were sold to Pechiney on June 1, 1992, Pechiney International's preliminary consolidated sales for the period ending June 30, 1992 amounted to FF 18,297 million, compared with FF 18,787 million for the first six months of 1991.
