CHERRY HILL, N.J., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Nobel Education Dynamics, Inc. (NASDAQ: NEDI) today announced that Dr. Mary Jane Pearson is joining the management staff of Merryhill Country Schools as director of education.
Scott Clegg, executive director of Merryhill Country Schools, stated that one of the priorities of Merryhill includes plans to upgrade and improve the curriculum, educational techniques, and strategies provided within the Merryhill school system. Clegg said that Pearson, working in conjunction with the experienced principals and teaching staff, will be responsible for guaranteeing that the Merryhill system provides the appropriate state-of-the-art learning environment for Merryhill children in order that they are prepared in all aspects of learning for the 21st century.
Pearson, a recognized leader in the field of education, has been an educational consultant to Merryhill, a division of Nobel Education Dynamics, Inc., since 1983. She has been a professor in the School of Education in the California State University system since 1980, having been at the University of Kansas and the University of Texas in prior appointments. Appointed in 1984 by Gov. Deukmejian, she served for nine years on the state education licensing board known as the Commission on Teacher Credentialing, and for 3-1/2 years as the elected chair of that commission. In addition, Pearson served on the nationally acclaimed California task forces which have restructured California elementary and high schools for the 21st century. She was co-author, along with former California Superintendent Bill Honig, of the largest study ever conducted of support for, and assessment of, beginning teachers. Pearson was also recently selected California Educator of the Year.
Pearson stated she is looking forward to this expanded challenge. She also stated that she has always supported the Merryhill objectives to provide a safe, nurturing environment where children at Merryhill can grow culturally while expanding their knowledge foundation. Pearson stated that the Merryhill charter will continue to be the best and will remain in the forefront of the education process.
Pearson will also participate in Merryhill's "educational products focus group" which will evaluate new educational products being offered worldwide, which could advance the education process within Merryhill and other school systems, as well as in 0the homes of its students."
