PEACHTREE FIBEROPTICS DIRECTOR INDUCTED INTO NATIONAL INVENTORS HALL OF FAME

 NORCROSS, Ga., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Peachtree Fiberoptics, Inc. (NASDAQ: PFII) today announced that Dr. Peter C. Schultz, director, has been inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
 The National Inventors Hall of Fame, located in Akron, Ohio, was established to honor the creative talent of inventors including Thomas Edison, Orville and Wilbur Wright, Alexander Graham Bell, and other prominent pioneers.
 Dr. Peter C. Schultz has been a director of Peachtree since June of 1992. Currently, he is the president of Heraeus Amersil, Inc., which is a leading, German-owned, silica glass manufacturer. Dr. Schultz holds more than 20 U.S. patents, primarily in the field of optical waveguide materials and fabrication
 Dr. Schultz, along with two colleagues, has been bestowed this honor as a result of design and development of the first commercially acceptable optical fiber for telecommunications. This invention led to the creation of the optical communications industry, with over 90 percent of our current long-distance communication traffic based upon the original design work of Dr. Schultz and his colleagues.
 Peachtree Fiberoptics, Inc. is traded on the NASDAQ under the symbols PFII (common) and PFIIW (warrants), and on the Boston Stock Exchange under the symbols PFI and PFIW, respectfully. The company is engaged in the development of plastic optical fiber using a proprietary manufacturing process.
