PEACHTREE FIBEROPTICS ANNOUNCES NEW DIRECTORS AND PERSONNEL

 ATLANTA, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Peachtree FiberOptics, Inc. (NASDAQ: PFII) announced today the addition of two new directors:
 -- Peter W. Hankin, managing partner of Ryan-Hankin-Kent, Inc., a consulting and market research firm based in south San Francisco. The firm specializes in the areas of fiber optics and communications in which it performs custom research assignments and publishes a series of multi-client studies including fiber optic components used in telecommunications, data communications, cable television and emerging markets such as automotive and endoscopy. Hankin is 41 years old and resides with his wife in Palo Alto, Calif.
 -- Joel E. Marks, certified public accountant, is the chief financial officer of Automobile Protection Corporation, a leading administrator and marketer of products and services to automobile dealers, distributors and leasing companies which are designed to enhance customer satisfaction, dealership revenues and profitability, and vice president, secretary, chief financial officer and a director of Corporate Management Group, Inc., a publicly held financial consulting and investment banking corporation whose principal subsidiaries include Corporate Securities Group, Inc. and J.W. Charles Securities, Inc., both of which acted as underwriters of the company's recently completed initial public offering. Marks is 36 years old and resides in Atlanta with his family.
 Additionally, Alan E. Bearden, previously controller, was promoted to the position of vice president of finance. Bearden, a certified public accountant, joined the company in April 1992. He was formerly with Gerber Alley & Associates and Ernst & Young. Bearden is 33 years old and resides in Atlanta with his family.
 Peachtree FiberOptics, Inc. is engaged in the development of plastic optical fiber using a proprietary manufacturing process, and sells under its own name, state-of-the-art custom designed machinery that is produced by FiberOptic Machinery Company, Inc. for use in manufacturing wire, cable and glass fiber.
