 PE'S KEN LAWRENCE, OF ROSEMONT, NAMED
 CHAIRMAN OF PENNSYLVANIA GAS ASSOCIATION
 PHILADELPHIA, May 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Kenneth G. Lawrence, Philadelphia Electric Company (NYSE: PE) vice president, Gas Operations, has been named chairman of the Pennsylvania Gas Association (PGA).
 He became chairman at PGA's annual meeting this week in Hershey, Pa.
 At PE, Lawrence, 44, of Rosemont, Pa., is responsible for 1,100 employees and for all facets of providing natural gas service to more than 355,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers in Philadelphia's four-county suburban area.
 Lawrence joined PE in 1969 as an applications engineer and has held a variety of positions in rates, finance, and customer service and accounts. He previously served as vice president, Commercial Operations.
 He holds a bachelor of science degree in engineering from Cornell University and a master's in business administration from Widener University. He also has studied business management development at the Darden School of the University of Virginia.
 He also is active in the American Gas Association, the Natural Gas Vehicle Coalition, and is a member of the Society of Gas Lighting.
 PGA is a statewide trade association representing 21 natural gas distribution utilities, 11 interstate pipeline companies and more than 80 allied organizations.
