PDWP approves 12 developmental projects costing of Rs. 10056.886 mln.

PESHAWAR -- A meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Shahzad Khan Bangash Wednesday approved 12 projects pertaining to different sectors including Health, Higher Education, Roads, Agriculture and Forestry sectors for the uplift of the province with an estimated cost of Rs. 10056.886 million.

The meeting was attended by Atif Rehman, Secretary P and D Department, members of PDWP and representative of SAFRON division and Tribal Districts. Nine projects were cleared by PDWP and recommended for approval of Central Development Working Party (CDWP).

The approved project included Treatment of Poor Cancer Patients, Rehabilitation and Construction of Sports Facilities in Districts Bajaur, Mohmand and Waziristan. The other approved proved included Upgradation of football ground at Qayyum Stadium Peshawar, Provision of additional and missing facilities in government colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Phase-II), Design and Construction of Roads and street pavements a) Kunda Topi b) Gar Mergoz c) Zarobi Topi, d) Zaida Kaddi, e) Marghuz Yousafi Swabi, Construction and Blacktopping of roads in District Bajaur, Rehabilitation of existing blacktopped roads in District Bajaur, Construction and Blacktopping of roads from Sher Khel to Serai Kandow upto Dars Masjid (10.5 Km) and Sarzai to Sangagra Balance Portion (2.5 Km) in Terah, Khyber District (GD).

The other projects included Procurement of Earth Moving machinery for land reclamation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Conservation, Development and Management of Wildlife in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Under Green Pakistan.

The following PSDP projects were cleared by PDWP and recommended for approval from Central Development Working Party (CDWP): "Construction of 250 bedded obstetrical and Children Hospital for District Swabi by Federal Government, Expansion and improvement of University of Science and Technology Bannu, Strengthening of University of Swat, establishment of Horticulture and Climate Research Institute at University of Swat, establishment of Women Sub campus, Batkhela, University of Malakand, strengthening and Development of University of Swabi, strengthening of academic facilities at Main Campus of Kohat University of Science and Technology Kohat, provision of missing facilities in Women University Mardan, dynamic intensification of resources (DIR) at University of Malakand.
