PCC results due today.

ELECTIONS for Police and Crime Commissioners (PCC) took place in Wales and England on Thursday.

Voters descended to polling stations to have their say on who they wish to oversee their local police force.

While the votes for the National Assembly elections were announced on Friday, the results for the PCC elections in Wales have yet to be called.

It is expected that the results for the PCC elections will be announced at around 2pm today.

The results of the PCC elections in England have already been announced on Friday, except for Wiltshire, which was announced the night before.

The role of the PCC is to oversee the police and ensure that they are prioritising what matters to the public. Their aim will be to cut crime and to ensure your force is effective.

PCCs are required to swear an oath of impartiality when they are elected to office. The oath is designed so that PCCs can set out publicly their commitment to tackling their role with integrity.

Voters in the PCC elections were asked to make a first and second choice for the candidate(s) they wanted.
