PC/ABS arrives for rapid prototyping.

What appears to be the first PC/ABS blend for rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing is now commercially available from Stratasys, Eden Prairie, Minn. The new resin powder is designed for the company's T-Class fused deposition modeling (FDM) systems. It is significantly stronger than previous ABS materials for the process, and its feature detail is similar to that of ABS modeling material. It has a tensile strength of 5040 psi, flexural modulus of 270,000 psi, notched Izod impact of 2.3 ft-lb/in., and unnotched Izod of 6.1 ft-lb/in. HDT is 205 F at 264 psi, and 230 F at 66 psi.
