PBA: Compton keeps the faith in Dandan.

Head coach Ricky Dandan has his work cut out for him, tasked to turn things around for Kia Picanto. The struggles continue for the PBA team but Alaska Aces head coach Alex Compton believes he is the right guy for the job.
Dandan inherits a team that has lost its last 14 games. Kia has lost by an average of 33 points in their last two outings. Regardless, Compton knows what the veteran mentor is capable of.
"It's tough. It's really tough," said Compton on Dandan's situation in Kia.
"Guys are working hard and he just took over early in the season so he is trying to put his system. He has a basketball mind and he stepped in a really difficult situation."
Compton faced a similar situation last year when the Aces dropped 14 straight games. For the 43-year-old Filipino-American, there is no other way to go but up.
Proof of that is the Aces resurgence right now. They have started to get back on track and have added some quality rookies in Jeron Teng and Davon Potts.
"It feels that we are on the upswing while they are figuring things out. Obviously, Kia is an expansion team. It is tough to be an expansion team. He's got a tough job," he said.
"I love coach Ricky and he is just in a tough position. I'm sure he will get those guys playing. He is a good coach," Compton added.
The last time Kia tasted was on May 21, 2017 against Phoenix Fuel Masters. But right now, Dandan believes it would be best for the team to look from within.
"If there is a silver lining, I said, it is that they were trying to play together. It was just too overwhelming for them," said Dandan after their to the Aces.
"I told them that we have to embrace the fact that we have a lot of weaknesses. We need to strengthen those weaknesses if we are to win our first game here," he ended.
