PATRICK PETROLEUM COMPANY REPORTS SUCCESSFUL DEEP GAS WELL IN MICHIGAN
 JACKSON, Mich., April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Patrick Petroleum Company (NYSE: PPC) today reported that it has a 12.4-percent net revenue interest in the State Garfield No. 1-10 deep gas development well located in Kalkaska County, Mich.
 The operator, Union Oil of California, has calculated an absolute open flow capacity of 11,700 Mcf (thousand cubic feet) of gas per day from tests recently completed. The State Garfield No. 1-10 was connected to a gas sales line on April 16 and is producing at the current daily allowable rate of 2,050 Mcf. The well was drilled to a total depth of 11,150 feet and encountered pay in the upper and lower portions of the Prairie du Chien formation between 9,850 and 10,960 feet.
 Commenting on the State Garfield No. 1-10, President U.E. (Pat) Patrick stated, "This well supports our strong belief in the potential rewards from our Michigan exploration program. The reserves associated with this well were included in our Dec. 31, 1991, totals. We will soon benefit from its production. Coupled with other exploration activities in Texas and North Dakota, we are encouraged about the potential contributions from our overall exploration program in 1992 and beyond."
 Patrick Petroleum Company is an independent exploration and production company listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 1976. The company has interests in producing properties and undeveloped acreage in 13 states, including various interests in approximately 444 oil and gas wells located primarily in Michigan, North Dakota, Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.
