PATRICK HARRINGTON JOINS DENNIS MUCHMORE AS PARTNER IN LOBBYING FIRM

 LANSING, Mich., March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Patrick L. Harrington has become a partner in one of the largest multi-client lobbying firms in Michigan. Harrington, an attorney, has joined with Dennis Muchmore in Muchmore Harrington Associates, Inc. Harrington previously was a legislative consultant on the staff of Karoub Associates. Sheila Steffel has also joined the firm as a legislative consultant.

 Muchmore was named Lansing's most effective lobbyist in a survey conducted by Inside Michigan Politics. He is a former legislative staff administrator, and was an executive with the Michigan State Chamber of Commerce. Prior to forming Dennis Muchmore Associates he was a legislative consultant with Governmental Consultant Services. He holds degrees from Eastern Illinois University (B.A.) and Michigan State University (M.P.A.).
 Harrington served as state representative from the 39th district (Monroe County). He is a graduate of Michigan State University (B.A. with high honors) and Thomas M. Cooley Law School (J.D.). Prior to election to the Legislature he was administrative assistant to the chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee (former Sen. James DeSana).
 Steffel has extensive government relations background in New York and Michigan. She has been a lobbyist with The Business Council, New York's leading business association; assistant executive director for the New York State Association of Counties; and, a legislative consultant with Karoub Associates. She holds a B.S. in economics from Cornell University.
 Harrington lives in Okemos, Mich. Steffel is a resident of Battle Creek.
 Muchmore Harrington Associates, Inc. represents 30 clients including organizations in healthcare, energy, technology, retailing, agriculture, education and telecommunications.
