PARTNERS IN DECEIT: Sam Attwater with Brianne, HEADBANGERS ON THIN ICE; SHAMED PAIR PLAN DANCE STUNT: Sam and Brianne make up for fake fling with daring swing.

Byline: Rick Fulton

SAM Attwater is set to become the first male celebrity to do the dreaded headbanger on Dancing On Ice - as he tries to win back respect for faking a romance with his partner.

The former EastEnders star was forced to apologise this week after he and skating partner Brianne Delcourt cashed in on their imaginary "relationship" by giving a series of intimate interviews.

But last weekend he was pictured kissing another of the show's professionals, Alexandra Schauman - the wife of show skater Lucasz Rozycki.

An already-filmed Valentine's Day segment with Sam and Brianne had to be scrapped at the last minute and ITV made him apologise publicly.

He claimed he had been dating Brianne but "wasn't now". ITV fears being linked with another scandal after coming under fire for fixing their GMTV quiz, the British Comedy Awards and reality shows.

Yesterday Sam, 24, revealed he'd be doing the headbanger and said: "I need to find the wow factor in my routine this week."

Sam has been the bookies' favourite from the beginning and top of the judges' leaderboard.

He said: "No celebrity boy has done the headbanger before, so that's something I want to do.

"We've been practising it, so we're working on that at the moment. Hopefully, in the next few weeks, it will be there.

"I want to do more new moves." In the headbanger, Sam will be swinging Brianne, who is only 5ft 2ins, around by her ankles, "face as near to the ice as possible".

Despite the romance being outed as a fake, Brianne still has to have a lot of faith in Sam as he'll have to keep hold of her as he's swinging her up and down so close to the ice.

Decision An insider said: "Chris Dean has been monitoring Sam's progress all week as it's such a dangerous move.

"He'll make a final decision on Sunday if he feels Sam is ready to perform this."

Although female celebrities have done the headbanger, no men have so far tried to swing their professional skating partner around. In 2009, during rehearsals, Roxanne Pallett came a cropper practising her headbanger routine. After a horror fall, she tore the skin on her back, which left a bad ice burn.

Last year Hayley Tamaddon performed a headbanger although she'd fallen during another move earlier in her routine.

Other female celebs who have pulled off the headbanger include Suzanne Shaw and Bonnie Langford, who became the first celebrity to do one in the first series.

Sam will be skating to She Said, by Plan B, while Vanilla Ice will skate to his own hit Ice Ice Baby.

And he'll have Jedward, who teamed up with him for their version of the hit, cheering him on.

Vanilla Ice designed his own costume for the Ice Ice Baby routine. Dancing on Ice is on STV tomorrow at 6.35pm.
